The main component of the error of the magneto-dynamic thickness measurement of the nickel layer of the two-layer chromium-nickel coating of the chambers of liquid-propellant rocket engines was theoretically and experimentally investigated (this component depends on thicknesses of the chromium, nickel and bronze layers that is above the steel case of the chamber). The calculations were made by the well-known finite-element method, and the experiments – by the magneto-dynamic gauge that is designed for thickness measurement of the chromium and nickel layers. It is shown that this gauge provides the necessary precision of thickness measurement of the nickel layer under the chromium layer subject to the gauge functionality that allows automatically eliminate the case magnetization' influence on the gauge readings. | ||||
